Christian Jil Benitez is a Filipino poet, scholar, & translator. He earned his PhD in Comparative Literature at Chulalongkorn University and is currently teaching at the Ateneo de Manila University. His first book Isang Dalumat ng Panahon  (ADMU Press, 2022) was given the Philippine National Book Award for literary criticism and cultural studies. His translation of Jaya Jacobo’s Arasahas: Poems from the Tropics (PAWA Press and Paloma Press, 2024) was a finalist in the 37th Lambda Literary Awards.  He was among the inaugural winners of the PEN Presents x International Book Award for his sample translation of Alvin Yapan’s Time of the Eye.
